All About Solid Wire Contact Pins

Posted by Jill Mayer on Aug 31, 2013, 2:23:00 PM

Solid wire contact pins can be used in a plethora of applications: automotive sensors, PCBs, wire wrap boards for telecom, flex circuits for medical, header pins in molded connectors.

The benefits of our swaged solid wire contacts are consistent pin lengths, and precise cut-offs. This means our customers avoid parts with burrs and abrupt transitions that increase insertion and mating forces, scratch mating surfaces and create conductive debris. Those are the types of issues our competitors wrestle with because of the nature of stamped or milledpin tips.

In addition, we offer two different wire pin tips -square or round - and a multitude of retention devices such as stars, serrations, flats, barbs, ears, grooves and right angles. Plating options include tin, tin/lead, nickel, gold, palladium, and silver. As long as the length of the wire contact pin is between .100" and 2.000", we are able to produce them.
