How to Ensure Quality of Tubular Contact Pins, Post-Plating

Bead Electronics has several vision inspection cameras throughout the factory that we use to inspect our solid wire and tubular contact pins as they are produced. But occasionally, certain parts can get bent or deformed during the plating process, which is outsourced to a reputable plating company post-production. How can we be sure they've maintained their quality and reliability after they've been plated, when it's our job to ensure customer satisfaction? Since we couldn’t find anything on the market, we built one ourselves.

How Will Disruptive Technologies Impact Custom Contact Pins?

Recently, I attended a presentation on Disruptive Technologies given by Martin Huddart of ASSA ABLOY at the New Haven Manufacturers Association (NHMA) Annual Meeting. In a nutshell, if manufacturers don't continuously improve their processes and products, they could be left behind when technology inevitably shifts the landscape.

Bead Electronics' Centennial Open House a Success

On May 8th, Bead Industries celebrated a monumental achievement: its 100-year anniversary in continuous business. Though a little damp and foggy, more than 150 people came through our doors to help us celebrate including current employees and their families, board members, former employees, vendors, customers, colleagues and fellow manufacturers.

Bead Electronics Celebrates 100 Years with its Valued Employees

On March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day), Bead celebrated 100 years of continuous operation.   Though many public events are in the works for the coming months, today was a time for Bead employees to gather together to celebrate the company’s centennial year in their Milford/Orange plant.

Finding Toolmakers is Key to Growth of Swaging Business

In a recent article in the Connecticut Post, local manufacturers expressed concern over an aging workforce in a vibrant industry for the state. In response, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy stated it necessary for us to continue to encourage students to pursue careers in manufacturing, reminding them that "entry-level jobs in manufacturing often pay more than entry-level positions for those with a four-year college degree".
